| After qualifying as a Registered Nurse, Josephine built experience in the UK working with adults with an intellectual disability. Josephine holds a Dual qualification having also qualified in General Nursing when in the UK. After returning to Ireland, she joined the Muiríosa Foundation in the role of Manager in Community Services, and thereafter was appointed to Regional Director of the Laois and Offaly Region. Josephine was appointed to Head of the new Person Centred Wing in 2009. The development of the PCW has been a passion for Josephine, commencing with 6 individuals supported and building to supporting 60 individuals over the intervening years. The core focus of the PCW has been working intentionally with individuals & their families to ensure support arrangements are focused on the individual & community based with the purpose of ensuring individuals to be valued, active and participating members of their local community. |
