Data Protection / GDPR

As a service provider and employer, Muiriosa Foundation manages a great deal of personal data.

Under the terms of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), personal data may be defined as data relating to a living individual who is, or can be identified either from the data itself or from the data in conjunction with other information that is in, or is likely to come into, the possession of a 'Data Controller'.

Muiriosa Foundation is a 'Data Controller' as defined under the GDPR legislation and as such is dedicated to ensuring that all staff, contractors and volunteers comply with data protection legislation regarding:

  • the processing and confidentiality of any personal data held by the organisation; and
  • the privacy rights of individuals under the legislation.

The primary purpose of the legislation is to safeguard the privacy rights of individuals where organisations process personal data as part of their day-to-day operations.

We are committed to keeping your information private and secure. To find out more about why we gather your personal information, what we do with it and what it means to you, please read our Privacy Statement
